Following a post on Google’s Offical Blog, it is now sure that Google is about to release its own web browser, a move that has been expected for years.
Using components from Apple’s WebKit and Mozilla’s Firefox, Google Chrome will be open source and will give access to Web Applications even when offline, thanks to Gears, the in-house offline technology. We can guess that the browser will be optimized for the various tools provided by Google (Google Office, Page…) in order to add an homogeneous layer to any operating system and push users and developers to embrace the “Cloud”.
Google Chrome will be available on September 2nd, in more than 100 countries, you will be able to download it here.
